My Panel (Before and After)
Prior to my Aspen I had a typical 1975 six pack panel. A year ago I installed a Garmin 480/MX20 with XM and an audio panel. I ordered my Aspen and patiently waited.
My Aspen Experience
I like the Aspen. My transition to flying the Evolution was smooth, quick and painless. The manual was very good and helped greatly. It didn’t hurt that I had a ton of Glass Cockpit experience from the Global Express that I fly.My Baron now has more avionics capability than the Global by far. It is going to take years for the jet to catch up. I have had an evolution failure and was treated very quickly and fairly by Sarasota Avionics and Aspen. The problem was a failure of the airspeed module and from what I heard it was a first failure of its type. I’ve certainly heard that before from some of the heavy hitters in the avionics, engine and airframe manufacturers but never had this prompt service from any of them.
