Beechcraft S35 Bonanza 1965

My Panel (Before and After)
When I bought the Bonanza in 1977 the instruments were mostly original, the radios were old, and the autopilot didn’t work. In 2008 the Aspen was added along with a PS Engineering PM8000B audio panel, Garmin 530W, Garmin GTX 330 transponder, and an STEC 55X autopilot.
My Aspen Experience
The Aspen gives me a display similar to the Primary Flight Display and Nav Display on the 777. It added a slaved compass to the airplane. It interfaces nicely with the 530W. I generally like flying with the Aspen. However, there are two things I hope will be added in future software upgrades: the ability to dim the display more at night and the ability to display a track-up nav presentation without the CDI.

About Me
I’ve been flying since 1964. I’ve spent time as a CFI, charter pilot, corporate pilot, and an airline pilot. I’m currently flying the Boeing 777 on long-haul international routes.
My first airplane was a Cessna 172 in 2003. I’ve owned the Bonanza since 2007.
