About Me

I have been a pilot for over 30 yrs but have mostly flown VFR with some light IFR now and then. Flying floats and not keeping current restricted my IFR flying and requirements for an IFR capable aircraft. Recent changes in mission requirements dictated a need for a capable platform that would provide safety and reliability to carry myself and family members for years to come.

My Panel (Before and After)

I had owned the Mooney for nearly 20 yrs and the King Silver Crown panel had performed flawlessly, having never removed a single component for repairs. However it became apparent that I was going to keep this airplane for a long time and a panel upgrade was required. Due to the non-standard layout a complete panel re-do was in the works. As the panel re-work evolved so did my thinking. Midway through I decided to add the MFD, WX, and autopilot. The completed product, installed by the skilled pros at Aerotronics in Billings MT, provides capabilities that I had recently only dreamed of.
