My Panel (Before and After)

Attached photos show the old panel, then upgrades to present. Fitted include the Garmin 530W, Garmin 300XL, EDM, DME, ADF, Centrury 3, and of course the ASPEN PFD 1000

All approaches are now a snap including the NDB (driven by the 300XL), so it is safer flying for us

My Aspen Experience

The ASPEN is a very precise instrument providing lots of information in both analogue and digital formats.

The scan is quick and informative. As an older timer I never found the old steam AH could give me 1-2 deg pitch resolution but with the ASPEN it is right there in front.

My flying is much more precise now. The continuous wind and TAS readouts are interesting.

The HSI function is great, integrating the nav info over the RMI & DG helps keep me on top of where I am and where the others are.

Very helpful instrument.
