Environmental Qualification Testing Completed Successfully
Aspen Avionics is pleased to announce successful completion of one of the most challenging tasks on the road to FAA certification of its Evolution Flight Display System. This past week, Aspen passed for score the last of its DO160E environmental qualification tests. Passing these stringent tests means the EFD1000 hardware is complete and ready to go.
With final FAA certification flight tests scheduled to be completed shortly, Aspen is fast approaching the finish line of certification. We remain on track for shipping FAA certified Evolution Flight Displays by the end of March.

EFD1000 Lights Up Cirrus SR22
The EFD1000 installation in Sales Manager Scott Smith’s 2002 Cirrus SR22 was finished today (see photo) at S-TEC, and is ready for its first test flight tomorrow. Scott will fly the SR22 back to Aspen’s Albuquerque headquarters by the weekend. This is the first non-company installation of the EFD1000, and it went smoothly.
After letting Aspen’s engineers in Albuquerque thoroughly check out the installation, Scott will fly the Cirrus back to his home in Kansas, and then start flying it around his central and southeast region, giving demos to dealers and pilots. Scott’s understandably excited about flying his new glass PFD and sharing it with others.
