First Non-Company Three-display (Trio) Installation in SR22

The first three-display (Trio) installation of an EFD1000 Pro PFD, an EFD1000 MFD and an EFD500 MFD, complete with an EWR50 Weather Receiver, was completed this week.

Sarasota Avionics performed the installation on Aspen Sales Manager Scott Smith’s 2002 Cirrus SR22. This is the first non-company Trio display installation, and it went smoothly. Scott will fly the Cirrus back to his home in Kansas, and then start flying it around his central and southeast region, giving demos to dealers and pilots.

EASA STC 10027113 is for installation of the Aspen EFD1000 Primary Flight Display in the Piper PA-28 Series aircraft. This STC was developed by Lees Avionics Limited in the United Kingdom. Additional EASA STCs Issued

Two new EASA STCs have been issued for the installation of the EFD1000 PFD Primary Flight Display into Piper PA-24 Series and the Cessna/Reims 182 Series aircraft.

EASA STC 10026831 is for installation of the Aspen EFD1000 Primary Flight Display in the Piper PA-24 Series (PA-24, PA-24-250, PA-24-260, and PA-24-400) aircraft. EASA STC 10026846 is for installation of the Aspen EFD1000 Primary Flight Display in the Cessna/Reims 182 Series (F182P, F182Q, and FR182) aircraft.

Both of these STC’s were developed by Tatenhill Aviation, Limited in the United Kingdom. One time rights to use the STC data packages are available to qualified EASA Part 145 organizations for a fixed fee of 600 EUR. Please contact Anthony Harper for further details.

Aspen Avionics is back at Sun ‘n Fun with an opportunity for you to experience the Aspen Evolution Flight Display in action and have all your questions answered about how you can upgrade to a glass panel in an affordable way. The Aspen Avionics booth is in Hangar D, booth #17. Stop by for a demo, and our dedicated staff will walk you through the system and answer any questions you may have.

Aspen’s VP of Marketing, Doug Cayne, will also be conducting a forum titled “Flying with the Evolution Flight Display.” Doug is a lively and informative speaker so we know you’ll enjoy this session:

The Aeroshell Flight Team will be in Aspen’s booth on Tuesday as well. We’re a sponsor of the flight team so this is a good chance to meet incredible air show pilots up close and have your photo taken with them.

Several authorized Aspen dealers will be also have the EFD1000 PFD on display in their booths. Make sure you stop and see these dealers to schedule an Evolution Flight Display installation.
