AeroTV Avionics Tip Of The Week: A Preview of Aspen’s New Synthetic Vision. Aspen’s Evolution Synthetic Vision for the 1000 Pro Primary Flight Display (PFD) will be available first quarter of 2011. The feature will be available as a field software upgrade or as an option to new Evolution PFDs. Priced at $2,995, Evolution Synthetic Vision will be the lowest-priced, certified synthetic vision product available.

AeroTV Avionics Tip Of The Week: Aspen Evolution Backup Display. The Evolution Backup Display is designed to replace legacy mechanical backup instruments in OEM and retrofit glass panel installations. A specially designed software load allows the Evolution flight display to be rotated onto its side into a landscape orientation, allowing the unit to be conveniently installed below or above an EFIS display panel and easily readable by the pilot.

AeroTV Avionics Tip Of The Week: Checking Out the Aspen Avionics EFD1000H. The EFD1000H is designed and manufactured to meet the rigors of helicopter operations. Aspen’s EFD1000H enables rotorcraft operators to replace their legacy mechanical flight instruments with state-of-the-art electronic displays with little to no modification of the existing panel.

Aero-TV Avionics Tip of the Week: Aspen 2.2 Software Upgrade. The Evolution Software version 2.2 includes some significant new features, including navmap panning. The feature uses a “gunsight” which the pilot can place over an element on the display and easily retrieve information about the targeted item. Scott Smith, Aspen Regional Sales Manager, demonstrates these new features in this video.
